All NOBÜ cargo bikes are subject to our warranty terms

This page outlines the warranty period and which parts are covered.

Warranty
  • NOBÜ guarantees that its cargo bikes are free from construction and/or material defects, as described in these warranty provisions.
  • Only the original owner of the respective NOBÜ cargo bike can claim warranty coverage.
  • The warranty expires under the conditions described in the articles on this page.
  • The warranty is non-transferable.
  • The warranty period begins on the day of delivery, once accepted and received.
Warranty Period
  • The NOBÜ cargo bike frames carry a 3-year warranty against construction and/or material defects.
  • The box and box panels carry a 1-year warranty against construction and/or material defects.
  • Discoloration of the box and/or box parts is not covered under warranty, as it may occur due to daily use or external factors such as UV radiation, moisture, and heat.
  • All electrical components have a 1-year warranty against construction and/or material defects.
  • All other components, excluding wear parts, carry a 1-year warranty against construction and/or material defects.
  • All accessories and the charger carry a 6-month warranty against construction and/or material defects.
  • No warranty is given on wear parts such as tires, chains, chainrings, cables, and brake pads, unless due to construction and/or material defects.
Maintenance and Warranty Retention
  1. Proper maintenance is essential for the lifespan of any bicycle, including your cargo bike.
  2. Perform an initial inspection after 500 km or within 4–12 weeks after purchase to maintain your warranty.
  3. Maintenance can be performed by our NOBÜ technicians or a certified bicycle mechanic.
  4. Keep the mechanic’s receipts as proof of completed maintenance.
  5. Maintenance costs are not reimbursed.
Warranty Exclusions

The warranty becomes void in the following cases:

  1. The NOBÜ cargo bike has not demonstrably (with receipt/invoice) received an initial maintenance check within 4–12 weeks or 500 km after delivery.
  2. The NOBÜ cargo bike has not demonstrably (with receipt/invoice) undergone annual maintenance following the first inspection.
  3. Defects are caused by incorrect assembly, meaning assembly that deviates from the provided instructions available on the website.
  4. In cases of improper and/or careless use inconsistent with the bike’s intended purpose, such as:
    1. Riding on and off curbs while fully loaded;
    2. Colliding with curbs;
    3. Riding on two wheels with a tricycle cargo bike.
  5. Technical repairs not performed professionally.
  6. Aftermarket parts that do not conform to the technical specifications of the bike or are incorrectly installed.
  7. Lack of proof of ownership.
  8. Exceeding the maximum load of the box, which is 70 kg.
  9. Saddle load exceeds 100 kg.
  10. Rear rack load exceeds 25 kg.
  11. Damage caused by accidents or other external causes.

Furthermore, NOBÜ expressly disclaims liability for damage to (parts of) the cargo bike resulting from:

  • Incorrect adjustment/tension of handlebars, stem, saddle, seatpost, derailleur system, brakes, gears, and/or loosening parts, wheel and spoke adjustments during use, and spoke breakage.
  • Failure to replace parts like brake/derailleur cables, brake pads, tires, chain, and sprockets in a timely manner.
  • Weather effects such as normal wear and tear of paint or rust on chrome.
  • Weather effects such as discoloration of paint and box.
Use of cargo bikes for rental purposes.
Labor Costs for Parts Warranty
  1. During the warranty period, all parts identified by NOBÜ as having material and/or construction defects will, at NOBÜ’s discretion, be repaired or reimbursed. Any (dis)assembly costs are at the owner’s expense, unless the owner is not reasonably expected to install the replacement part themselves.
  2. Contrary to the previous item, in the case of frame and front fork material and/or construction defects, labor costs will be covered by NOBÜ for up to two years from the date of purchase.
Tips for a Long Life of Your NOBÜ
  1. Read the supplied user manual carefully before use.
  2. Protect your NOBÜ against frost, and use a NOBÜ cover if the bike cannot be stored under shelter at night.
  3. Clean your NOBÜ regularly, but do not use a high-pressure cleaner, as it can damage electrical components or the paint. In such cases, your warranty may also be void.
Submitting a Warranty Claim to NOBÜ
  • Claims under this warranty must be submitted via email, including the order number, frame number, and a photo of the relevant part, so NOBÜ can assess whether it qualifies as a warranty case.
  • NOBÜ will acknowledge or deny the claim within a reasonable timeframe. If the defect cannot be assessed without physically inspecting the bike, a suitable solution will be discussed with the owner.
  • Before sending a replacement product, NOBÜ may require the defective product to be sent in for inspection. Based on this, NOBÜ may decide the product does not fall under the warranty or will send a replacement.
  • Transport costs of the cargo bike and/or parts to and from NOBÜ are the responsibility of the owner, unless the part is covered under warranty.
  • If a part qualifies for warranty and the original part is no longer available, NOBÜ will provide at least an equivalent alternative.
